I make premium treats for allergen-sensitive pets.
I started back in 2012 when my family adopted Gryphy, an Australian Shepherd who was on a raw diet. That's him below. I wanted to give him dog treats that complemented the healthy aspects of a raw diet, but couldn't find any commercially available products that fit. Commercially available products contain wheat, chicken, corn, soy, preservatives, and artificial colours and flavours that make the treats cheaper and can trigger allergic reactions. These things don't belong in a dog's diet. Since I couldn't find what I was looking for on any pet retailer's shelf I started making my own. I researched common allergens and how different breeds are affected. I tested and re-tested different recipes until I found what worked; not only for the dog, but for the family as well. Some households have a peanut allergy so I developed a dog cookie that replaces the peanut butter in the original recipe with dried beef liver. Now I offer my products to pet parents who want the best for their furry friends.
As I met with dog parents I learned what other sorts of dietary issues they have and developed other products to help them thrive as well. This is where my line of Just Dried products came from. These single-ingredient treats are made in Erin, Ontario Canada by my own hands using locally-sourced produce.
Pop-up vendor shows are a great way to get feedback.
Soon I was getting queries like, "These are great! Do you have anything for cats?" So I developed single-ingredient treats for them.
Next I was asked, "Do you have anything for horses?"
Older horses, miniature horses and donkeys tend to suffer from Cushing's disease, akin to diabetes in humans. I developed Dandy Apple Horse Cookies to have no sugar or molasses and still taste great.

“I buy the “Just Dried Chicken Hearts” for a little dog (Kobe) I volunteer dog walk for a senior couple. Kobe goes crazy for them, before, during and after our walk. I ran out and was giving another brand (different from Blue Rose) and when I started up again with the Chicken Hearts, the change in Kobe was very noticeable. He showed more excitement, and eager to jump up on the hall bench when leaving again, sitting pretty (or handsome) he stopped doing when I ran out of the treats.
